Criminal Law Sebastian has developed a strong Magistrates’ and Youth Court defence practice, covering all aspects of the criminal law. He has defended clients charged with robbery, ABH, sexual assault, and possessing a bladed article. He has a growing private practice, and is regularly instructed in variety of road traffic cases.
Quasi-criminal law Recently, Sebastian has been instructed by the Treasury Solicitors as a disclosure barrister, working on a large-scale judicial review in relation to the legality of the British Forces’ detention policy in Iraq. |

Cases of Interest
R v McParland, 2010. Defence of a 70-year old woman accused of assaulting her daughter. Involved cross-examining her 16 and 12 year old grandchildren. Acquitted following a two-day trial.
R v MM, 2010. Defence of a 14 year old boy accused of sexually assaulting two schoolgirls. Acquitted following a two day trial.
R v Najafikhalajabadi, 2010. Defence of an Iranian national accused of sexually assaulting a fellow passenger during a transatlantic flight. Acquitted following trial.
R v Taylor, 2010. Prosecuting an unrepresented defendant on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions. Conviction following trial.
