Experienced in cases involving defences of diminished responsibility (with contested psychiatric evidence), provocation and self defence.
Sexual Offences Defended and prosecuted numerous cases of rape, child abuse, child pornography and prostitution.
Experienced in examination in chief and cross examination of children and other vulnerable witnesses (including complainants lacking the capacity to consent due to mental disorder).
Experienced in dealing with all aspects of medical/paediatric evidence.
Human Trafficking Very experienced in this type of case (see R v. Plakici, below) mainly as leading counsel for the Crown (both trafficking for prostitution and for 'cheap labour').
Experienced in dealing with vulnerable and intimidated witnesses.
Worked closely with the Metropolitan Police Human Trafficking Unit over several years.
Fraud Defended and prosecuted in numerous fraud trials including: VAT; advanced fee frauds; mortgage frauds and fraudulent trading.
Drugs Defended and prosecuted numerous cases involving importation and large-scale supply of drugs (predominantly class 'A').
Experienced in complex prosecutions involving numerous defendants (see R v. Simons and others, below) and in dealing with sensitive material.

R v. Hristov - Wood Green Crown Court, 2009. Prosecuting human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
R v. Chellapermal - Chichester Crown Court, 2009. Prosecuting human trafficking for (labour) exploitation.
R v. C and M - Lewes Crown Court, 2009. Prosecuting rape/aiding and abetting rape of mentally disordered complainants.

R v. Wendy Fair Markets Limited - St Alban's Crown Court, 2008. Successfully defending company director (and primary defendant) in test case prosecution of market operator in respect of sale of counterfeit goods/breach of copyright by traders on market.
R v. Simons and others - Lewes Crown Court, 20072008. Prosecuting large-scale conspiracy to supply cocaine and heroin involving 13 defendants and subsequent confiscation proceedings.
R v. Rashman and others - Liverpool Crown Court, 20062008. International advanced fee fraud involving millions of pounds; hundreds of losers; extending over many years.
R v. Noonan and others - Lewes Crown Court, 2007. Prosecuting conspiracy to import and supply cocaine in and around Sussex and subsequent confiscation proceedings.
R v. B - Guildford Crown Court, 2006. Prosecuting rape of 10-year-old boy by 15-year-old boy.
R v. Gordon and others - Lewes Crown Court, 2006. Gang murder with six defendants.
R v. Galvin and others - Wood Green Crown Court, 2006. Conspiracy to rob elderly victims in their homes (45 robberies in all; 60 plus victims; five defendants).

R v. Plakici - Wood Green Crown Court, 2003. Leading junior for Crown in successful prosecution involving the trafficking and kidnapping (by fraud) of Eastern European women for prostitution in the UK. Now leading case on sentencing human trafficking.
R v. Broomhead and others - Nottingham Crown Court, 2002. Smuggling class 'A' drugs across English Channel in rigid hull inflatable boats and onward distribution.
R v. Liu and others - Kingston Crown Court, 1999. Smuggling, kidnap and blackmail of illegal immigrants by 'Snakeheads'/organised gangs.
