Practice Areas and Specialisations

Alisdair practises in all areas of crime both for the prosecution and defence. In particular serious sexual offences including offences relating to children, murder and serious violence, drugs and fraud both as leading junior and junior alone.

 

Alisdair is an approved rape counsel in London and Northamptonshire and has wide experience of disclosure issues particularly relating to third party disclosure in sexual offences.

 

Alisdair undertakes appellate work and divisional court work including human rights issues.

R v. Laverty & Ors. Complex multi-defendant historic family sexual abuse case (as leading junior for the defence).

R v. Marshall. Defence counsel in fraud arising from breach of pesticide regulations.

R v. Tontoh. First prosecution of domestic trafficking for exploitation.

R v. O'Neill. Prosecution of mother for attempting to poison infant children.

R v. Anderson & Ors. Junior prosecution counsel in five defendant murder.

R  v. Chehata. Leading junior counsel in prosecution of foster father for multi victim historic and current sexual and physical assaults (including rape of 5 year old) where the social services involvement was subject to Serious Case Review.
