Practice Areas and Specialisations

Herbert undertakes criminal prosecution and defence work, civil litigation and advisory work, particularly in clinical negligence and other aspects of professional negligence.

He appears for all sides in professional disciplinary and regulatory tribunals. He advises on conflict of law situations and some aspects of international law.

In Scotland, Herbert leads in serious criminal cases, particularly murders, frauds and Customs and Excise cases, clinical negligence, disciplinary tribunals and ecclesiastical law.
